Nadezhda Nikitichna Mikhalkova (born September 27, 1986 in Moscow, Russian SFSR) is a prominent Russian actress whose career spans from childhood roles to mature performances in both cinema and television. Born into the illustrious Mikhalkov family, she is the youngest daughter of celebrated actor‑director Nikita Mikhalkov and fashion designer Tatyana Shigaeva, and sister to fellow actors Artyom and Anna, a lineage that has long influenced Russian cultural life. Her first major screen appearance came at the age of six when she portrayed Nadia Kotova in the Academy Award‑winning film Burnt by the Sun, directed by her father, a performance that introduced her to international audiences and earned the film the Grand Prix at Cannes. After a brief episodic role in The Barber of Siberia (1999), she demonstrated versatility by playing twin sisters in the 2000 comedy President and his Granddaughter directed by Tigran Keosayan.
