Maximiliano Hernández (born September 12, 1973) is an esteemed American actor. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, this actor of Honduran descent began his acting career during his high school years. His passion for the art led him to briefly study acting at the City College of New York. Before relocating to Los Angeles, California, he honed his acting skills as a stage actor. Hernández is best known for his significant roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and in the popular television show, The Americans. Early in his blossoming career, Hernández had appearances in popular series like Law & Order, 24, and Numbers, as well as in films like Hotel for Dogs. His acting prowess was showcased in the films Pride and Glory and Warrior, both directed by Gavin O'Connor. Moving onto roles that made him a household name, Hernández made brief yet impactful appearances as the Marvel Comics character Jasper Sitwell in the world-acclaimed Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise. His portrayal in Thor (2011), The Avengers (2012), and Avengers: Endgame (2019) are notable. He reprised this role in Marvel's short films The Consultant and Item 47, the first season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and the 2014 blockbuster, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In 2013, he rendered a stellar performance in the first season of The Americans as Chris Amador, an FBI agent. His work in the series was described as 'wonderful, making a fringe character both memorable and strangely noble in his limited screen time.'
