Ken'ichi Hagiwara (born Keizō Hagiwara on 26 July 1950 in Yono, Saitama, Japan) was a seminal figure in Japanese popular culture, celebrated both as a charismatic singer and a versatile actor. The Tempters, the blues‑rock group he fronted in the late 1960s, became one of the defining acts of the Group Sounds era, earning massive record sales and a fervent fan base drawn to his striking looks and powerful, almost reckless vocal style.
