Jenny Agutter: Movies & Box Office

Jennifer Ann Agutter OBE, better known as Jenny Agutter, was born on 20 December 1952 in Taunton, Somerset, England. She began her career as a child actress in 1964, and has become known for her work in both England and the United States. She first gained recognition for performances in the BBC's 1968 television serial and the 1970 film version of 'The Railway Children', as well as the 1971 critically acclaimed film 'Walkabout'. Inspired to pursue a Hollywood career, she relocated to the United States in 1974. Her notable works include 'Logan's Run' (1976), 'Amy' (1981), 'An American Werewolf in London' (1981), and 'Child's Play 2' (1990). Come the early 1990s, she returned to Britain to focus on her family life, notably shifting her work scope to television. Agutter's recent contributions include roles in 'The Avengers' (2012), 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' (2014), and the 2000 television adaptation of 'The Railway Children' where she played the mother. Active on the philanthropic front too, she is an ardent supporter of several charitable causes, predominantly related to cystic fibrosis, a condition that her niece suffers from.
