Jarl Lage Kulle (28 February 1927 – 3 October 1997) was one of Sweden’s most celebrated actors and directors, renowned for his versatility on stage and screen. Born in Bjuv, Sweden, in the small village of Truedstorp outside Ekeby, he was the son of merchant Nils Kulle and Mia Bergendahl, a background that gave him a grounded perspective that would later inform his performances. After studying at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, Kulle quickly became a central figure in the Swedish theatrical world, mastering both classical repertory and contemporary works.
