Hayden Christensen: Movies, Awards & Box Office

Hayden Christensen is a well-known Canadian actor, most famous for his representation of Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader in the expansive Star Wars franchise. His Star Wars debut was in the prequel trilogy films, Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones in 2002, and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith in 2005. He then reprised his role in the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi in 2022 and Ahsoka in 2023. Christensen launched his career on Canadian television when he was just 13, transitioning to American television in the late 90s. Some of his early works include Sofia Coppola's The Virgin Suicides, Life as a House, and Shattered Glass. He received accolades for his performances as Sam in Life as a House and Stephen Glass in Shattered Glass, snagging nominations for a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Additionally, he won the Trophée Chopard at the Cannes Film Festival. His other notable works include Awake, Jumper, Takers, and Little Italy.

Christensen was born to Alie, a speechwriter, and David Christensen, a computer programmer and communications executive. He comes from a blended heritage, with his father of Danish descent and his mother with Swedish and Italian roots. He has three siblings, all of whom are actors. Albeit from Canada, he spent his summers on Long Island at the behest of his maternal grandmother, Rose Schwartz. In his high school days, he remained an accomplished athlete playing hockey and tennis at competitive and provincial levels respectively. His acting journey began when he accompanied his elder sister to her agent's office after she landed a role in a Pringles advertisement, following which he was seen in commercials such as the one for Triaminic cough syrup in 1988.
