Fionn Whitehead, born on 18 July 1997, is an accomplished English actor known for his lead roles in several acclaimed productions. Whitehead grew up in an artistic household in Richmond, London, with his parents being jazz musicians and his siblings pursuing various creative pursuits. He was named after the Irish folklore legend Fionn mac Cumhaill, while his passion for the arts led him to acting amidst earlier aspirations to become a guitarist or a breakdancer. Whitehead began his acting career at the Orange Tree Theatre at the age of 13, followed by his education at Richmond College and the National Youth Theatre's summer course. Prior to his breakthrough, he held a job at a coffee shop in Waterloo, London while aspiring to become an actor.

Whitehead secured his first acting credit in 2016 with British miniseries 'Him'. In 2017, he landed the protagonist role in Christopher Nolan's blockbuster film Dunkirk, earning himself widespread recognition. His performance was highly praised, with Nolan lauding him as reminiscent of actor Tom Courtenay in his youth. Shortly afterwards, he worked on Richard Eyre's film The Children Act, along with Emma Thompson and Stanley Tucci, and also featured in the television series Queers. His acting career continued to thrive as he starred in the interactive film 'Bandersnatch', a standalone project under the Black Mirror series. Whitehead continued to impress with his performances in Sebastian Schipper's drama Roads, the Martin Scorsese produced film Port Authority and other high-profile projects such as The Duke, Don’t Tell a Soul, Emily, and a television adaptation of Great Expectations.
