Dwier Brown (born January 30, 1959) is an American actor and author whose career spans more than four decades of film, television, and literature. Born in Norton, Ohio and raised in the nearby town of Wadsworth, he pursued higher education at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio, where he earned a degree that laid the groundwork for his entry into the performing arts. Brown made his screen debut in the early 1980s with a supporting role in the television movie The Member of the Wedding (1982) and quickly built a reputation as a reliable character actor, appearing in the acclaimed TV mini‑series The Thorn Birds (1983) and the cult‑favorite thriller To Live and Die in L.A. (1985). His first major genre exposure came with the horror film House (1986), followed by the sequel House II: The Second Story (1987), showcasing his versatility in both suspense and comedy.
