In the heart of the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, an unexpected turn of events unfolds when Kate Moseley, a distinguished figure skater representing the United States, coincidentally bumps into Doug Dorsey, the captain of the U.S. ice hockey team, just moments before a crucial game. This unfortunate encounter leads to a traumatic head injury for Doug, abruptly ending his professional hockey career and forcing him into an early retirement.
As Kate’s Olympic hopes begin to unravel, her skating partner’s careless mishap during their performance significantly tarnishes their chances of clinching the gold medal. With her aspirations dashed, Kate grapples with the difficulty of finding a new partner, as her demanding nature and perfectionism have left her reputation in tatters.
