Brian Stepanek (born Brian Patrick Stepanek on 6 February 1971 in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American actor whose career has spanned television, film, and voice‑over work for more than two decades. After graduating from Gilmour Academy in 1989, he pursued higher education at Syracuse University, where he honed his comedic timing and began performing in regional theatre. Stepanek broke into the national spotlight in 2000 when he was cast as the eccentric inventor Arwin Hochhauser on Disney Channel’s hit sitcom The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, a role that earned him a devoted fan base and a recurring appearance in the series’ spin‑off The Suite Life on Deck. Simultaneously, he appeared in Michael Bay’s blockbuster Transformers (2007) as a Sector Seven agent, demonstrating his versatility in both family‑friendly comedies and high‑budget action pictures. His early film credits also include the sci‑fi thriller The Island (2005) and a cameo as a bank manager in the direct‑to‑DVD sequel Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2. In addition to on‑screen acting, Stepanek has cultivated an extensive voice‑over résumé, lending his distinctive tone to characters such as Roger the lion in Father of the Pride, Martin in Disney’s Bolt (2008), and multiple roles in the animated feature Home (2015).
