Baken Kydykeyeva (20 September 1923 – 30 December 1993) was a renowned Kyrgyz actress who became one of the most celebrated figures in Central Asian cinema and theater. Born in the village of Tokoldosh in the Turkestan ASSR of the Soviet Union, she grew up during a transformative period in the region's cultural history. She made her theatrical debut at the Young Spectators Theatre at the young age of 16, an early start that laid the foundation for what would become a distinguished career in the performing arts. Five years after her debut, she joined the Naryn Regional Theatre, where she further developed her acting skills and gained valuable experience working on a variety of productions. She subsequently became a prominent member of the Kyrgyz National Theatre, solidifying her status as one of the leading actresses in the country and earning acclaim for her powerful performances on stage. Beyond her individual achievements, Kydykeyeva is celebrated as one of the legendary Four Daughters of Tököldösh, a phrase coined by the elder brother of film actress Darkul Kuyukova, which associated her with three other distinguished actresses from the same village: Sabira Kumushaliyeva, Saira Kiyizbaeva, and Darkul Kuyukova herself. She passed away on 30 December 1993 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, at the age of 70, leaving behind an enduring legacy that continues to inspire generations of Kyrgyz actors and actresses.
