Anthony Michael Hall: Movies & Box Office

Anthony Michael Hall (born Michael Anthony Thomas Charles Hall; April 14, 1968) is an American actor, producer, and comedian. Best known for starring in the acclaimed John Hughes films Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and Weird Science, Hall began his diversifying career trend to avoid being typecast. Achieving fame in teen cinema, Hall showed his versatility by adding his comedic talents to the legendary cast of Saturday Night Live (1985–1986). His pivotal roles also include performances in movies like Out of Bounds (1986), Johnny Be Good (1988), Edward Scissorhands (1990), and Six Degrees of Separation (1993). After minor roles in the 1990s, he gave a stellar performance as Microsoft's Bill Gates in the 1999 television film Pirates of Silicon Valley. From 2002 to 2007, Hall played the leading role in The Dead Zone, a successful USA Network series. In 2008, he appeared in The Dark Knight and since 2019, has been appearing in ABC's The Goldbergs.

Apart from acting, Hall is also a musician, following in his family's tradition, he pursued his passion for music as the lead singer and songwriter for his band, Hall of Mirrors. He's also known for his work as a director and producer, having directed his first feature film, a low-budget Showtime comedy titled Hail Caesar in 1994. In more recent years, Hall has appeared in a variety of roles, ranging from a recurring spot on the sitcom Community, to a role in the horror film Halloween Kills (2021). In 2023, Hall appeared in the Amazon Prime Video series Bosch: Legacy and was announced to join the cast of hit series Reacher for its third season.
