André Eriksen (born 22 October 1975) is a Norwegian multi‑platform artist whose career spans music, dance, visual art and film, making him a seminal figure in the evolution of Norway’s contemporary cultural scene. Growing up in the Stovner district of Oslo, a low‑income neighbourhood with a high immigrant population, Eriksen dropped out of school as a teenager and turned the streets into his first canvas, tagging walls with bold graffiti that challenged authority and earned him several arrests; his rebellious spirit caught media attention in 1995 when he was in police custody at the release of the Warlocks’ debut album Lyrical Marksmen. Together with his brother Kevin (known as “Karma”) and friend Håkon Lund (“Hawk”), he formed the pioneering Norwegian hip‑hop trio Warlocks, whose 1995 debut on dBut Records was followed by a string of successful releases on Tee Productions, including the popular single Takin Ova (1998) and the award‑winning album Afterlife (2001) that secured the 2002 Norwegian Alarm Prize for hip‑hop. Parallel to his musical pursuits, Eriksen proved himself a formidable break‑dancer, winning the Norwegian championships in 1997 (both solo and with the Atomic B‑Boys crew) and later representing Scandinavia at the International Battle Of The Year 2000, cementing his reputation as a versatile performer. His theatrical work began with the innovative stage show “Evolution of Style,” co‑written and performed with Atomic B‑Boys, touring renowned venues such as Black Box Theatre, the Norwegian Riksteatret, Kiasma in Helsinki and Kulturhuset in Stockholm, and he later collaborated with the Swedish ensemble Moves Per Minute and the National Swedish Touring Theatre on contemporary dance productions. Transitioning to screen acting, Eriksen debuted in the Norwegian crime thriller Nokas (2010) and quickly secured roles in Pionér (2013), the historical series Vikings (as Odin), The Trip (2021) alongside Aksel Hennie and Noomi Rapace, and the action‑comedy Violent Night (2022), demonstrating his ability to cross cultural and genre boundaries while remaining a vital voice in Scandinavian entertainment.
