Marvin Gable [Ke Huy Quan] is a highly successful real estate agent who has just earned the top honor from his boss, friend, and mentor [Sean Astin] Cliff Cussick. He moves through his polished days with the help of his sharp, emotionally guarded assistant [Lio Tipton] Ashley, whose cynicism masks a deep fear of leaving the job she’s kept for so long. Yet Marvin’s past is never far away. In truth, he once worked as an assassin for a secret outfit known as “The Company,” run by his estranged brother, Alvin “Knuckles” Gable [Daniel Wu], a man whose iron control over his operation still hums beneath Marvin’s measured, daylight life. The mission that haunted him involved eliminating a young lawyer named Rose Carlisle [Ariana DeBose], who had crossed the organization by stealing from them. However, Marvin’s burgeoning love for Rose compelled him to defy orders, to warn her to run, and to step away from the life he once led, choosing a path of protection instead of pursuit.

Around Valentine’s Day, a note from Rose lands in Marvin’s world, reigniting old loyalties and old dangers. The trouble arrives in the form of a knife-wielding, poetry-obsessed killer known as the Raven [Mustafa Shakir], who has been hired to locate Rose. Marvin acts quickly, subduing the intruder and casting him aside, but the danger is far from over. Two more agents, King [Marshawn Lynch] and Otis [André Eriksen], close in, forcing Marvin to fight for his freedom once more. He overpowers them, but the confrontation takes a sharper turn when Rose herself appears, dragging Marvin to a hidden refuge at a seedy strip club where she has set up her own hideout.

Meanwhile, Ashley’s world shifts in an unexpected way when she discovers Raven and the odd, rhythmic poetry that frames his life. The poetry captivates her, and he, in turn, is moved by her keen appreciation for his craft, creating a strange bond between hunter and pursued. The tension continues to spiral as Cliff himself comes to Marvin’s house and confronts the truth about Marvin’s past. Knuckles arrives with his own formidable memory of decisions and betrayals, and in a brutal moment, Cliff is killed, a stark reminder that family ties are deadly in the world they inhabit.

Rose—armed with a mountainside of information about Knuckles’s murky money laundering—begins to assemble her plan. She has captured Kippy Betts [Rhys Darby], Marvin’s former accountant, and is coercing him to reveal the depths of Knuckles’s duplicity, while she rubs Renny Merlo [Cam Gigandet] the wrong way by exposing his theft from the operation. Knuckles’s empire is slipping, and Rose intends to use the stolen data to topple him, urging Marvin to reclaim the old skills he once buried deep inside.

A tense sequence unfolds when Marvin hides in a house he’s showing to a couple. He asks Ashley to bring the necessary papers, unaware that Raven rides along, a detail that tightens the net around him. Kippy escapes and reaches out to Renny, who then orders King and Otis to converge again. The showdown spills into Knuckles’s lair as Rose heads to confront her former ally, and Raven, Ashley, Otis, and King collide in a brutal exchange. The clash is messy and costly, with the death of Marvin’s hotheaded rival Jeff Zaks adding a grim note to the night. The alliance between Marvin and Raven fuels a daring pursuit of Rose as she presses her assault on Knuckles’s stronghold. They push through a storm of armed men, and Merlo is killed in the ensuing struggle. The emotional weight of the moment hits Marvin hard when he learns that his brother Knuckles had killed Cliff, a revelation that fuels his final showdown.
