A private investigator is hired by the seductive prima cliente Danila Trebbi to determine whether her husband, the wealthy commendator Cesare Beltramelli, Mario Carotenuto, keeps other women in his life. To avoid arousing suspicion, the detective and his assistant disguise themselves as the butler Diogene Renzo Montagnani and as Carlotta, the cook [Alvaro Vitali](/actor/alvaro-vitali, and slip into the Beltramelli household with the tacit complicity of the wife and the rest of the staff.
