Following the death of her father and a subsequent car accident that leaves her orphaned and blind, Lilly begins to hear unsettling voices as a child. Years later, happily married and expecting a baby, she discovers her unborn child is destined to be a vessel for souls seeking rebirth. With only until the baby's first heartbeat to decide which spirit will be reborn, the voices return, intensifying her struggle.
