What Is Vers Nancy About?
The premise of Vers Nancy without spoilers.
On a train, an immigrant French woman engages Jean‑Luc Nancy in a dialogue about the notion that every foreigner is an intruder, foreshadowing themes later explored in L’Intrus. The film offers a social critique of the illusion that assimilation and integration preserve cultural differences in strongly nationalistic societies such as the United States and France, arguing instead that they tend to erase them.
