Uncovering Our Earliest Ancestor: The Link (2009): Cast

Darwinius masillae, nicknamed Ida, is a primate fossil from a shale quarry, about 47 million years old. After 20 years with a collector, Norwegian paleontologist Dr Jørn Hurum recognized it as a missing link between primates, lemurs and mammals. He secured its purchase by Oslo’s Natural History Museum, assembled a team, and announced the findings at a press conference on 19 May 2009.
