Triple Threat 2019

Deveraux enlists Payu and Long Fei for a humanitarian mission in Thailand aimed at freeing prisoners. Unbeknownst to them, the operation is a front for Deveraux and his crew—Mook, Joey, Steiner, and Dom—to extract their true target, their imprisoned leader Collins, a notorious terrorist. The assault on the village is brutal, catching Indonesian soldiers off guard, waking up Jaka Iko Uwais and shattering his world as his wife is killed in the confusion. In the chaos, Payu and Jaka clash, but the confrontation is interrupted when Mook fires a grenade at Jaka, leaving him unconscious.

Collins’s freedom follows, and Deveraux turns traitor, double-crossing Payu and Long to tie up loose ends. They are knocked into a cage, while Collins rigs a bomb to erase the evidence. Payu and Long manage to free the remaining prisoners and barely escape the collapsing nightmare. Jaka awakens to a wrecked village; he buries his wife and the dead villagers, his vow of vengeance burning bright as the smoke clears.

A few days later, Jaka discovers Payu and Long participating in an illegal boxing ring in Maha Jaya. After Payu defeats a challenger, Jaka and Long square off with the crowd split between them; Long wins, yet Payu recognizes him as the villager he fought days earlier. After healing Jaka and sharing a meal, Payu and Long get them drunk, and Jaka phones the authorities, leading to their arrest.

Tian Xiao Xian [Celina Jade], a philanthropist, arrives in Maha Jaya to donate funds to fight corruption, a move that threatens Su Feng’s illicit operations. Su Feng, a corrupt businesswoman who detests Tian’s interference, orders Collins and his crew to kill Tian. Madame Liang takes Tian toward the Chinese Embassy, but Collins’s team intervenes. Liang is wounded but manages to gun down Dom and warns Tian to seek police protection. Tian reaches the station, but language barriers complicate the situation; the officers enlist Long as a translator while Paysu is kept in another room for questioning.

Collins’s crew arrives at the police station following a tip from Jaka. Payu fights Steiner in a tense showdown, and Jaka shoots Steiner, paving the way for Payu to deliver the killing blow. Jaka reveals that he had Payu and Long arrested to draw Collins into the open. Long fights Joey and escapes with Payu and Tian. In a brutal turn, Jaka destroys Mook with a grenade launcher and then meets Collins, pretending an alliance.

Payu calls Collins with a baiting offer: Tian in exchange for $100,000 and freedom, with a meet at the old Polo House. Collins agrees in principle, but covertly orders his crew to spend the last of their funds on hired guns to finish Payu and his allies. Payu then returns to his former boss to acquire weapons for the final confrontation.

In Maha Jaya, Long and Tian rendezvous with Collins and his crew, while Payu methodically eliminates the hired shooters. In the ensuing chaos, Long knocks out Joey with a brick to the head, and Payu and Jaka close in on Deveraux’s faction, aided by Long’s steady presence. A call to the Chinese ambassador reveals Tian’s location, but Collins’s plan nearly derails them; Jaka is knocked off a balcony by Collins, who finally finds Tian and aims at her, only for Long to take the bullet. Payu bursts in and finishes Collins for good, while Tian shoots Joey as he lies recovering.

The dawn after the battle sees Su Feng arrested, and Liang reveals that Jaka supplied the location intelligence. Liang escorts Tian to the Chinese Embassy, leaving Payu and Long to exchange a rueful, almost amused breath as they tease Jaka for nearly getting them killed with his elaborate scheme.
