Triple Threat 2020

Deveraux recruits Payu, an ex-Thai Special Forces operator, and Long Fei, an ex-Chinese Special Forces expert, for a humanitarian mission in Thailand with the goal of freeing prisoners. Hidden beneath the charitable guise, however, is a dangerous underside: Deveraux and his own crew—Mook, Joey, Steiner, and Dom—plan to use the operation to reach their true target, their leader Collins, who is revealed to be a terrorist. As the mission unfolds, a village guarded by Indonesian soldiers becomes the backdrop for chaos: the raid awakens Jaka, and tragedy strikes when he discovers his wife has been killed in the confusion. A brutal clash between Payu and Jaka erupts, but it is interrupted when a grenade fired by Mook knocks Jaka unconscious, leaving both men breathing hard in the wake of the assault.

The tension peaks when Collins is freed and Deveraux betrays Payu and Long, binding them with the others to tie up loose ends. A bomb is set to burn away the evidence, and the crew’s plan seems to work until Payu and Long manage to free the remaining prisoners and escape the collapsing scene. For Jaka, the aftermath is personal: he buries his wife and the other villagers, and in the wake of the devastation, he swears vengeance on Payu and those responsible for destroying his community. In a twist of fate, news surfaces that Payu and Long are involved in an illegal boxing ring in Maha Jaya. After Payu defeats a challenger, Jaka and Long face off, a brutal reminder of their earlier encounter where Payu recognized the villager he had fought days before. Healing and feeding the desperate man, Payu and Long’s mercy is tested once more when Jaka drugs them and phones the authorities, leading to their arrest and a harsh interrogation at the police station.

The plot thickens as Tian Xiao Xian, a philanthropist intent on purging Maha Jaya’s corruption, arrives with a vision of charity that clashes with the city’s hidden power structures. Su Feng, a corrupt businesswoman who fears Tian’s influence, orders Collins and his crew to eliminate her. Madame Liang, acting on Tian’s behalf, escorts her toward the Chinese Embassy, but the violence intensifies when Collins’s crew opens fire, killing many local bodyguards. Liang is wounded in the melee but manages to shoot Dom and urges Tian to seek safety at the police station. Language barriers complicate the response, and the officers call Long as a translator while questioning Payu elsewhere.

As the situation reaches a boiling point, Collins and his crew descend on the police station after a tip from Jaka. In a tense sequence, Payu faces Steiner, while Jaka shoots Steiner, enabling Payu to finish him. Jaka then reveals that he had Payu and Long arrested to draw Collins out of hiding. Long fights Joey, and the pair escape with Tian. In a dramatic turn, Jaka blows up Mook with a grenade launcher, then aligns with Collins under a fragile alliance. A side plan unfolds when Payu calls Collins with a proposition: Tian for $100,000 and Payu’s freedom, agreed to at the old Polo House. Collins accepts the terms but secretly allocates money to hire shooters to terminate the trio. To arm themselves, Payu travels to an old associate for weapons, setting the stage for a fierce confrontation.

The pursuit ramps up as Long and Tian meet Collins and his crew, while Payu moves quickly to eliminate the hired shooters. In the ensuing chaos, Long caps Joey with a decisive blow, and Payu and Jaka combine their efforts to take down Deveraux. A crucial moment arrives when Payu calls the Chinese ambassador to reveal Tian’s location, and Jaka tries to aid Payu as they press toward Collins. Yet Collins proves formidable, overwhelming them, and Jaka is cast off the balcony in a brutal reversal. Tian’s safety becomes the next focal point as Long absorbs a fatal shot meant for Tian, bought at the cost of his own life’s safety. Payu arrives in the nick of time and finally ends Collins’s reign of violence. With Collins dead and Joey waking on the floor, Tian finishes Joey herself to ensure there are no further threats.

In the immediate aftermath, Su Feng is arrested, and Liang discovers that Jaka had provided the authorities with their location. Liang escorts Tian to the Chinese Embassy, while Payu and Long share a rare moment of relief and a wary acknowledgement of Jaka’s dangerous misdirections. The film closes with the trio left to reckon with the cost of their choices, the fragile lines between justice and vengeance, and the uneasy peace that follows a night of marked violence.
