Nome, Alaska, 1900: Russell Simpson as Flapjack and George Cleveland as Banty ride into town to check on their gold mine claim, only to discover a web of corruption that taints every corner of the claim and the surrounding territory. Saloon owner Marlene Dietrich as Cherry Malotte stands at the center of it all, acutely aware that Bennett and Clark are scheming to steal what the two men have found, and she uses that knowledge to steer the uneasy balance of power in town.
