The premise of The Tree of Wooden Clogs without spoilers.
On a northern Italian farm, Batisti and his wife resolve to send their son Minec to school, sacrificing his help in the fields in the hope of breaking the cycle of poverty that has bound their family for generations. When Minec’s wooden clog breaks during the long walk to school, Batisti is forced to jeopardize the family’s fragile future to replace it.
