On February 27, 1993, in Štrpci, Bosnia and Herzegovina, a routine Belgrade-to-Bar train journey becomes the stage for a chilling crime. The film tells the true story of how a White Eagles paramilitary unit abducted 24 Muslims from a passenger car and many of them were killed, a moment of violence that would echo through history.

In a single train car, Dragan, Goran Bogdan, sits among a group of passengers: Milan, a teenage boy; a grandfather, Dušan Gojić, and his granddaughter, Priska Ugrina; and a college student, Lara Nekic. Also present are fellow travelers, including passengers Robert Ugrina and Mijo Pavelko. The drama begins as the train stops unexpectedly and the White Eagles gain access to the car with the conductor, Nebojša Pop-Tasić facilitating their entry.

Once inside, the soldiers force everyone back into their seats and demand documentation and personal details from each passenger. The car fills with tense quiet as several people are heard being dragged out, and Milan confides in Dragan that he has no paperwork and fears arrest. Dragan attempts to reassure him, insisting that nobody in the car will let anything happen to him, even as the danger closes in around them.

The mood shifts dramatically when a commander, Alexis Manenti, enters the car. Dragan is unable to mount a defense, and he watches helplessly as the commander berates Milan and orders him off the train, with a hollow promise that he will be returned quickly. The other passengers seem to shrink into their seats, choosing silence over confrontation, even as the car becomes a fragile stage where human courage fluctuates in a moment of imminent peril.

Among the other travelers, the final passenger in the car, a Croat army veteran named Tomo Buzov, Dragan Mićanović, boldly steps forward to challenge the officer’s authority. His defiance stands out in the growing stillness, and he leaves the train to speak with the officer in charge, hoping to halt the unfolding violence. Milan is allowed to stay behind as the train continues, and Dragan observes Tomo’s empty seat with a restrained, heavy silence.

The film closes with a solemn tribute to Tomo Buzov, honoring his attempt to intervene and stop the massacre, a reminder of the costs paid by those who stood up against cruelty.
