Shady bookie Jimmie Allen pines for greedy dance‑hall performer Pearl Proctor. After she spurns his advances, he hatches a plan to win her back, and in the process breathes new life into a struggling Gilbert‑and‑Sullivan troupe. His scheme not only seeks Pearl’s affection but also unexpectedly rescues the faltering troupe, offering its eccentric cast a shot at redemption.
