A small loan from Maxie at Maxie’s Barn seeds a rise that sees him build a network of posh illegal casinos, a nightclub, and other ventures across London. In this world of glamour and danger, he longs for acceptance among the British upper class and seeks guidance in courtesy from Miss Minter Mona Washbourne, whose patient lessons frame his every move.
