Spoilers ahead
The Eagle Huntress tells the inspiring story of Aisholpan, a 13-year-old Kazakh girl living in Mongolia. Coming from a nomadic family that spends their summers in the Altai Mountains and winters in town, she dreams of continuing a seven-generation family tradition of eagle hunting—a sport traditionally reserved for men.
With the support of her father, Nurgaiv, Aisholpan learns the complex art of training golden eagles and eventually captures and trains her own eaglet. Despite facing significant disbelief and opposition due to her gender, she makes history by becoming the first female to enter the prestigious Golden Eagle Festival in Ölgii. Her determination pays off when she wins the competition, and her eaglet even sets a new speed record during one of the events.
