An uneasy, power‑driven meeting unfolds between Officer James and Gabriel Barrett, a corrupt crime boss who carries himself with a chilling calm. Gabriel is obsessed with the Florentine philosopher Machiavelli, and throughout their tense conversation he drops references to Machiavelli’s ideas, noting that James’s past tactics had a Machiavellian edge. James grows tired of Gabriel’s rambling, but he endures to press for concrete answers and concessions.
Gabriel reveals that he has taken over a previously failed organization and rebuilt it right in James’s own territory. He argues that a cut of the profits belongs to him, while recounting a brutal history where six of his men died and three of James’s agents paid a heavy toll as well. Gabriel insists he does not need protection from James, but James tries to persuade him to set aside their differences and forge a path toward a shared, more secure future. In a sudden moment of tension, Gabriel points a gun at James’s head, then reveals it was a jest. The confrontation ends with an uneasy agreement, and a deal is formed.
Three years later, James reappears to demand the delayed payment. The meeting is staged in an empty house where Black and Gray stand by as Danny and Jack hide a briefcase full of cash in the fireplace. The plan spirals into chaos, a violent shootout erupts, and in the end only the wounded Danny survives while others fall. A crime‑scene cleanup crew is hired to tidy the bloody aftermath, led by Siobhan and including Alex, Meagan, and Chuck. The crew works in quiet coordination, moving through the wreckage with a mix of detachment and moral unease.
Inside the house, Chuck notices the fireplace stash, while Alex hesitates to open the case, wary of drawing more danger. Meagan quietly suggests taking the money, imagining a chance to start fresh, and Siobhan allows the theft but keeps herself at a remove from the risk. As they near completion, Danny returns to threaten and intimidate, but Chuck overwhelms him and takes control. Danny eventually reveals the code to the case, and Alex finally opens it to find more than £2 million belonging to the Special Crimes Agency (SCA).
Siobhan is cautious about the windfall, fearing the money’s dark reach, while Alex convinces her to help keep Danny safe at a discreet location. The plan shifts when Rob arrives on Gabriel’s orders to retrieve the briefcase. The crew contends with shifting loyalties as Meagan worries about the money and contemplates keeping it, while Siobhan contemplates turning it over to Gabriel’s organization. Meagan and Alex resolve to guard the loot, and tension rises as Danny’s fate becomes increasingly linked to the money’s path.
Meagan is soon abducted in a swift turn of events when Rob takes her to Gabriel’s office, prompting [Chuck] to change course and join Alex in the effort to rescue Meagan. They relocate Danny to a new place, and Danny, compelled by his own boss’s demands, leads them toward a fresh lead—a man named O’Connor. In the ensuing pursuit, Chuck drowns O’Connor’s guards and forces O’Connor’s death, pushing Alex to question the morality of the choices he makes.
Back at base, Siobhan privately questions Danny and then leaves on her own. A new wave of danger arrives as a group of hitmen storms the hideout. Chuck holds his own against them, but Siobhan’s betrayal becomes clear: she has sent these men to defeat them and has returned the briefcase to Gabriel’s organization. Alex and Chuck resolve to save Meagan and reclaim the money, intensifying their pursuit toward Gabriel’s HQ.
The final stretch pits a tense stand‑off between government agents and criminals. James confronts Gabriel about the bloodshed his actions have caused, but Officer Garland shoots James to death, shifting the power balance in Gabriel’s favor. As chaos erupts, Garland is killed in the ensuing melee, and Gabriel’s men fall under Alex’s gunfire. Chuck awakens and lends a hand in overcoming Rob, while Siobhan arrives, shoots Rob, and then reaffirms her own priorities with Meagan’s safety in mind.
With Rob dead and the cleaning crew converging on Gabriel’s office, Siobhan rescues Meagan and the showdown with Gabriel reaches its climax. Alex battles Gabriel one‑on‑one, ultimately killing him and seizing Machiavelli’s book from Gabriel’s desk. Siobhan seizes the moment to seize the remaining power and heads out with the briefcase and her crew, leaving the scene shrouded in the murky aftermath of a world where loyalty and money blur into a dangerous currency.
