Ted is a 1970s Venice Beach poet who drifts along the boardwalk, reciting his verses to anyone who will listen. When a bikini‑clad beauty named Linda strolls past, he instantly declares her his “Venus” and becomes fixated. He pursues her with poetry, lewd phone calls and grand romantic gestures, but his efforts only lead to chaotic, disastrous outcomes.
