Born as Craig Kenneth Bruderlin on July 18, 1940, James Brolin is a renowned American actor. Fondly known for his roles in television series like Steven Kiley on Marcus Welby, M.D. (1969–1976), Peter McDermott on Hotel (1983–1988), John Short on Life in Pieces (2015–2019), and the narrator on Sweet Tooth. His film prowess is also quite extensive where he took up roles such as Jerome K. Weber in Skyjacked (1972), John Blane in Westworld (1973), General Ralph Landry in Traffic (2000) and Jack Barnes in Catch Me If You Can (2002). In addition Lightyear (2022) film saw him as the voice of Emperor Zurg. Born into a family of two brothers and sisters, his interest in acting developed early following his admiration for actor James Dean and eventually began shooting 8 mm films. After high school, he further honed his acting skills at Santa Monica City College and the University of California. His career kicked off at 20th Century Fox where he started as a contract player.

Brolin won two Golden Globes and an Emmy during his acting career and even acquired a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on August 27, 1998. His acting journey has experienced both highs and lows, with failed series like Angel Falls and Extreme but also successful ones like Pensacola: Wings of Gold. He also served as an executive producer and director. Beyond acting, he engaged in sports car racing and even participated in the 1979 24 Hours Nürburgring as part of the AMC Spirit team. In his personal life, Brolin has been married thrice and has three children. He's currently married to Barbra Streisand, making him stepfather to her only child, Jason Gould.
