In the quiet Washington state town of Suddenly, Dominic Purcell plays Baron, a calculating mastermind who leads four assassins posing as Secret Service agents. Their target is the President Chris Shields during his visit, and their plan centers on taking over Ellen Erin Karpluk’s house to stage a sniper attack. The job depends on fooling the local police, while Deputy Todd Shaw Ray Liotta remains the lone skeptic among those involved. Ellen’s home becomes the nerve center of a dangerous, high-stakes scheme that could upend the town’s sense of safety.

Baron’s crew moves with cold precision, but Todd’s instincts keep nagging at him. The tension escalates when Ellen’s father dies of a heart attack—triggered by the strain of the intrusion—and Ellen’s teenage son, Pidge, escapes from the house to fetch help. The attackers press on, while Todd struggles to be heard, his warnings dismissed by everyone around him as the clock ticks toward the planned showdown.

Todd’s attempts to warn the authorities falter, and he manages to kill one member of Baron’s group before he is captured. In private moments, two assassins chat with Todd and Ellen, and a damning truth emerges: Todd accidentally killed Ellen’s husband during a grenade attack in Iraq on a moonless night, a revelation that reframes the two families’ pain and loyalties.

The third assassin recaptures Pidge as he tries to reach Judd, a local electrician. As the countdown culminates, Todd lunges at Baron just as the sniper exchange erupts. The President is grazed in the arm, a narrow brush with catastrophe, and Pidge fires, bringing Baron down at the moment he’s about to kill Todd.
