The story
What Is Strangers on a Train About?
The premise of Strangers on a Train without spoilers, adapted from Strangers on a Train by Patricia Highsmith.
A successful tennis player, Guy Haines, meets Bruno Anthony on a train, and the seemingly casual conversation quickly spirals into a disturbing proposition. Bruno suggests they "exchange" murders, each eliminating the other's obstacle. Guy dismisses the idea as a joke, but Bruno carries out his part, plunging Guy into a terrifying situation where he must appear to solve the crimes while desperately trying to avoid becoming the next victim. As the investigation intensifies, Guy finds himself increasingly entangled in a web of danger and suspicion, fighting to protect his family and reputation.
