The film centers on Heidi, a teenager residing in suburbia Canberra, who decides to run away after making an unexpected and bold sexual advance towards her mother’s boyfriend. In her quest for escape and freedom, she flees to a ski town nestled within the Snowy Mountains, hoping to reunite with a man who once offered her assistance. However, upon reaching out to him, she is met with rejection when his wife answers the phone, and he denies ever knowing her. Left feeling isolated and lost, Heidi navigates through various bars and shops in search of support, but it appears no one is willing to help—until she meets Joe, a young man who takes notice of her, buys her a drink, and extends a kind offer of a place to rest.
