‘Shorts’ unfolds in the seemingly ordinary suburb of Black Falls, where cookie-cutter houses line the streets and every resident is employed by BLACK BOX Unlimited Worldwide Industries Incorporated. Their prized invention, Mr. Black’s BLACK BOX, is hailed as the ultimate gadget that can handle just about anything. However, 11-year-old Toe Thompson, portrayed by Jimmy Bennett, feels like he’s getting nothing from it except the same old routine and persistent bullies.
His life takes a wild twist when a mysterious rainbow-colored rock falls from the sky, striking him on the head and changing his fate forever. Unlike Mr. Black’s BLACK BOX, this Rainbow Rock possesses the astonishing ability to grant wishes. Unfortunately, chaos ensues as Toe’s peers and their parents inadvertently unleash a torrent of wacky and unpredictable wishes—this results in everything from tiny alien spaceships invading the streets to ridiculous armies of crocodiles and even oversized boogers causing havoc!
