Shin Kamen Rider: Prologue 1992

Two doctors, Daimon Kazamatsuri and Giichi Onizuka, are geneticists who push the boundaries of medicine by aiming to cure AIDS and cancer through experiments that strengthen the human body at the Institute of Super Science (ISS). The test subject, Shin Kazamatsuri, Kazamatsuri’s son, volunteers to help by taking part in the trials, driven by a mix of trust and curiosity. Unbeknownst to the researchers, a shadowy syndicate funds the operation with a clear goal: to use the breakthroughs to harden men’s bodies and forge mutant cyborg soldiers (改造兵士, Kaizō Heishi) for their own gain, turning science into weaponry.

At the center of the story lies a radical, almost messianic dream held by Onizuka—to fuse grasshopper DNA with human subjects and birth a new species, a civilization he could lead as a god. He may have tested aspects of this experiments on himself, yet the results seem to loom larger in Shin’s case, hinting that Shin is at the heart of a larger, more dangerous transformation. The strain between scientific ambition and ethical boundaries grows as Onizuka’s ambitions.Edge of control, the line between savior and threat begins to blur.

Meanwhile, a mysterious creature stalks the city, its presence felt in the attacks and in Shin’s recurring dreams. Shin initially believes he is responsible for the killings, but the truth starts to surface: Onizuka is the engineer behind the murders, and his experiments have pushed him toward a disturbing metamorphosis into a humanoid grasshopper. The grasshopper telepathy provides a chilling link, allowing Onizuka to communicate with Shin and making Shin a reluctant witness to the carnage.

As the syndicate tightens its grip, Onizuka’s fate is put into question and institutionalized, while a CIA agent tracks Shin with orders to eliminate him, unaware of the real magnitude of the threat Shin could become. This confrontation between secrecy, science, and survival drives Shin to investigate the experiments more deeply, peeling back the mask of the ISS and tracing the dangerous threads from the laboratory to the city’s streets, all while the boy remains caught in a web of loyalties, betrayals, and the uneasy possibility that he is more than just a subject in a test.
