Against a charged political backdrop, the film traces a web of power, loyalty, and ambition in Tamil Nadu. In a decisive MLA meeting, the IRP party picks veteran Satyamoorthy as Chief Minister, only for a scandal to erupt when a cadre circulates a video that allegedly shows him in a promiscuous act. The public shuns him, and in the fallout, Satyamoorthy and his family are driven to despair. This tragedy unfolds as a calculated move engineered by the party’s influential minister Boopathi Prakash Raj, who has waited twenty years for a direct shot at the top post. Two days after the funeral, Boopathi pulls off a dramatic by-election win in Karaikudi, seizes the Chief Minister’s chair, and consolidates power through a maze of manipulation that shadows the political landscape.

Meanwhile, Kamalakannan Karthi is pulled into a chaotic misidentification near the Chennai International Airport when auto driver Rajini Appadurai Santhanam mistakes him for a wealthy man. In reality, Kamal is a village farmer who runs a free-meal service, visiting the metropolis to press politicians to halt a Railways project that would threaten his ancestral property. He stays with his paternal aunt Dr. Rani, and the pair’s bond strengthens as Kamal falls for Sreedevi Pranitha Subhash, the daughter of Rani. Their budding romance faces a cruel test when Sreedevi travels abroad, prompting Kamal to promise to step away at Rani’s insistence. The romance is a quiet counterpoint to the political storm brewing around him.

As Kamal learns more, he confronts Boopathi’s influence and discovers that the project for his mistress was used to eliminate Satyamoorthy. Disillusioned with the system, he morphs into a sharp political strategist and campaigner, using his street wisdom to swing local fortunes. He helps the moneylender Ramani become Mayor of Chennai by steering her campaigns, then obtains the ear of Perumal, the opposition leader Kota Srinivasa Rao and joins his party to drive a decisive victory. With Kamal’s clever maneuvering, Perumal rises to the CM post, reshaping the balance of power in the state. In the end, Boopathi is brought to justice for Satyamoorthy’s death, and Kamal, protecting his family’s land and resources, finally reconciles with Sreedevi, choosing a future where principle and love have a place amid the political turbulence.
