Rene the Cane 1977

The film marks the second collaboration between director Francis Girod and composer Ennio Morricone, after “Le Trio Infernal” (1974) and before “La Banquière” (1980). Based on a Roger Borniche story about gangster René Girier, it follows the daring exploits of flamboyant mobster René (Gérard Depardieu) and the unconventional police inspector Fernand la Sournoise (Michel Piccoli) in the 1940s.
