In the remote Australian outback, rookie police officer Shane Cooper’s first day on the job quickly turns perilous when a prison escape triggers a violent conflict. Shane Cooper, played by Ryan Kwanten, is a young police officer who moves to the quaint town of Red Hill with his expectant wife to build a new life. On his very first day on duty, he feels the cold shoulder from Old Bill, portrayed by Steve Bisley, the head of the local police force. Bill’s scorn stems from Shane’s struggles with his firearm, particularly after a traumatic incident where he hesitated to shoot an armed young boy, resulting in Shane being injured while on duty.
