Los Angeles, in the year 1997, is sweltering under a scorching heatwave, with temperatures soaring into the high 90s. The city is in chaos as the LAPD finds itself amidst a fierce and deadly battle against Colombian gangsters, a conflict that escalates at alarming speed. As the police rapidly lose ground, Lieutenant Mike Harrigan, portrayed by Gary Busey, arrives on the scene, his heart racing but his resolve steely. Arming himself, he speeds his car towards the frontline, providing crucial cover for his fellow officers trying to rescue two injured colleagues—those brave men who are now left behind amidst the havoc. Seizing this moment to regroup, the Colombian gangsters make a hasty retreat into a nearby building, which they occupy as their stronghold, a fortress of violence and fear.
