Many years ago, a grim act of violence left three circus landowners dead after they refused to part with their land, and their bodies were buried on the very plot that would later awaken with restless fury. This dark history quietly frames the present, where a man named Ramon—notoriously dependent on his mother and seen as fragile—finds himself forced into hard labor as a landscape artist to pay off a mounting family debt.
In the midst of his toil, he crosses paths with Anna, a magnetic and formidable boss who becomes the object of his unwitting devotion. As Ramon tries to impress her and win her trust, he unwittingly uncovers the long-buried graveyard of the three circus owners. The moment he disturbs the earth, their souls rise and begin to haunt him, taking control of his body and driving a vengeful course that threatens to ruin his budding romance with Anna.
To prove the sincerity of his feelings and to protect Anna, Ramon must confront her father, Don Demetrio, a powerful syndicate leader whose influence casts a looming shadow over their lives. Yet Ramon’s natural timidity amplifies every challenge, making the battle against both living danger and ghostly intrusion feel almost insurmountable. The situation is intensified by a trio of spectral figures, led by Anastacio “Chemerut” Balbitero, Jr., whose unrest fuels the haunting and complicates every choice Ramon makes.
As the mystery of the hauntings deepens, Ramon discovers that the ghosts are not random victims but seekers of revenge against Don Demetrio. Reluctantly, he finds himself compelled to collaborate with the very apparitions he fears, joining forces with them to uncover the truth behind the hauntings and to thwart the threats looming over Anna and himself. This uneasy alliance tests his courage in unforeseen ways, forcing him to weigh personal safety against a higher sense of justice for the tormented spirits.
Throughout this ordeal, Ramon learns what it truly means to stand up for others, even when fear is a constant presence. The journey gradually reshapes him—from a hesitant, debt-bound worker to someone capable of facing danger with resolve. By embracing a deeper duty to others, he moves toward a path where justice is served not only to set the ghosts free but also to shield Anna from the peril that Don Demetrio represents. The culmination is a nuanced blend of love, duty, and courage, where the living and the dead find a measure of resolution, and Ramon discovers a resilience within himself that had been buried beneath doubt.
Notable voice talent enriches the film, including Nacho Vigalondo as TV Host (voice) and Santiago Segura as Damián / Bishop / Satan (voice), with Carlos Areces providing the voice for Psychologist Jorge. Their performances contribute to the film’s quirky, otherworldly atmosphere, balancing humor with supernatural tension in a narrative about love, loyalty, and the courage to confront the past.
