Ignacio 'Nacho' Vigalondo Palacios is a renowned Spanish filmmaker known for his versatility in the film industry, where he boldly undertakes roles as a film director, screenwriter, producer, and even an actor, a testament to his boundless talent. Born on April 6, 1977, Vigalondo made his mark early in his career with his first film, a 2003 Spanish-language short film titled '7:35 in the Morning' that was merely eight minutes long yet captivated audiences to the extent of earning him an Academy Award nomination for Best Short Film alongside several other accolades. Vigalondo transitioned to full-length feature films in 2007, releasing 'Los Cronocrímenes' (English title: Timecrimes), and later directed a Spanish-language alien invasion film 'Extraterrestre' in 2011.

That same year Vigalondo was hired to direct a film adaptation of Mark Millar's Supercrooks. Between 2012 and 2014, Vigalondo contributed to three different anthology horror films: 'The ABCs of Death', 'The Profane Exhibit', and 'VHS: Viral', with 2014 marking his English-language debut in 'Open Windows', a techno-thriller film. Vigalondo's creativity shone through his 2016 film 'Colossal', a unique twist on the Kaiju genre, paying homage to the Godzilla franchise, executed using 'old school' practical effects within a limited budget. He has since directed a Hulu original film 'Pooka', episodes of the superhero comedy series 'The Neighbor', and the entire second season of the comedy series 'Justo antes de Cristo'.
