Spoilers ahead
Barbara Lorna Tolentino has always been the loving, indulgent older sister who lets Ruth Dawn Zulueta get away with everything. Ruth’s charm is obvious, but it masks a deeper hunger for attention and approval that she never quite earns from the people around her. When Ruth fixes her eyes on Nick Tonton Gutierrez, a man who is instantly drawn to Barbara as well, a dangerous triangle forms. Ruth’s feelings turn desperate and possessive, and she makes a chilling demand: if Nick won’t marry her, she would rather die. Barbara, torn between sisterly loyalty and the fear of Ruth’s instability, attempts to smooth things over. Yet Ruth’s fixation is not easily dismissed.
