Night and Fog in Japan (1960): Cast & Plot

In 1960, amid the aftermath of the Anpo Protests against the US-Japan Security Treaty, the wedding of Nozawa, a journalist and former student radical, and Reiko Harada, a current activist, is interrupted by uninvited guests. They publicly accuse the couple and the assembled guests of forgetting their political commitments, triggering a meticulous, often difficult examination of unresolved conflicts from a decade of student demonstrations. The moment feels charged with judgment, as if the celebration itself has become a courtroom where the past is pressed into the present.
