After the events of Friday (1995), Craig finds himself in a precarious situation as his father, Willie, suggests he relocate to Rancho Cucamonga for safety. There, he lives with his uncle Elroy and cousin Day-Day, who have recently won the lottery and are enjoying the comforts of a middle-class lifestyle. However, this joy is overshadowed by Elroy’s laziness, as he spends his days indulging in large amounts of marijuana and making scandalous home videos with his wife, Auntie Suga. Meanwhile, Day-Day struggles to maintain his cool at a record store while dealing with the constant harassment from his pregnant ex-girlfriend D’Wana and her aggressive sister, Baby D.
As Day-Day gives Craig a tour of their new neighborhood, they encounter Mrs. Ho-Kym, their neighbor, and catch a glimpse of the trouble brewing next door with Joker and his brothers, who arrive home in style in a flashy lowrider. Day-Day reveals the harsh reality of their lottery win, explaining that after taxes and fees, they barely had enough to cover their house and car. Things take a turn for the worse when a letter carrier delivers a delinquency notice, warning that their home could soon be repossessed. Unfortunately, Day-Day is pressed for time and cannot inform his father about this dire situation before rushing off to work.
In an attempt to take the edge off, Craig joins his relatives for a joint that proves too potent, rendering him unconscious. Later, he visits Day-Day at work, where the chaos escalates when D’Wana and Baby D return for a second round of vandalism on Day-Day’s car. Trying to confront them, Day-Day finds himself outmatched as Baby D attacks him. The situation deteriorates further when Pinky arrives, mistaking Craig for a robber during a heated encounter. After a tense moment involving Pinky’s gun, Craig manages to clear up the misunderstanding, but both he and Roach find themselves fired.
Determined to save their home, Craig, Day-Day, and Roach devise a plan to confront the Joker brothers, suspecting they may have hidden cash. They successfully incapacitate the Joker’s guard dog, Chico, with an edible given to them by Roach. While the Joker brothers party, Craig sneaks into their house, discovering drug money hidden within a hydraulic pump. His escape becomes thrilling when he narrowly avoids detection from Baby Joker, before meeting Karla and flirting momentarily.
Growing increasingly worried about Craig’s absence, Day-Day and Roach take the initiative to knock on the Joker’s door, only to find themselves taken hostage by the armed brothers, who are frantic to locate their missing funds. Just when things seem bleak, Willie decides to intervene, joining forces with Elroy. Together, they manage to overpower two of the Joker siblings, while Craig bravely frees both Day-Day and Roach.
With the police arriving just in time, they apprehend the Joker brothers on drug charges and re-arrest Deebo and his brother, Tyrone, who were seeking vengeance against Craig after escaping from prison. Finally, Craig hands over the cash from the pump to Day-Day and Elroy, helping them resolve their financial crisis and keep their home. After this whirlwind of events, Craig learns a valuable lesson: sometimes, the suburbs can be just as dangerous as the streets he once knew.
