In the 1990s, Jaison Tovino Thomas is a diligent young tailor from the quiet village of Kurukkanmoola who dreams of a brighter future in the United States. His plans are entangled in a tangle of love, loyalty, and family secrets. He pursues a relationship with Bincy Sneha Babu, the daughter of Varkey P Balachandran, but Bincy’s engagement to Aneesh J Jude Anthany Joseph threatens to derail everything he hopes to achieve. Complicating matters, Aneesh’s ex-girlfriend Bruce Lee Biji Femina George harbors resentment toward Aneesh, adding a layer of social tension to the close-knit community. At the same time, Shibu Guru Somasundaram, a social outcast, harbors a quiet longing for his childhood sweetheart Usha Shelly Kishore, who happens to be Daasan’s sister, a worker in Varkey’s bustling tailor shop. The family’s struggles are deepened when Usha’s daughter requires urgent medical treatment, but the family lacks the funds to secure care.

On Christmas Eve, a bolt of lightning changes everything: Jaison and Shibu are struck and awaken with telekinetic powers, an uncanny gift that binds their fates in unexpected ways. Jaison’s nephew Josemon Vasisht Umesh believes the lightning endowed his uncle with extraordinary abilities, while Shibu’s new power becomes a tool he wields in private moments to protect Usha from harassment at a teashop, a gesture meant to win her affection but also to assert his place in a complicated web of affection and fear. The moment marks a turning point, stitching together themes of responsibility, danger, and the precarious balance between love and danger.

Yet hope for Jaison falters when Saajan Baiju Santhosh reveals a painful truth: Jaison is not Varkey’s biological son. The revelation detonates a personal crisis, for Jaison learns that he is the son of Martin, a deceased theater actor, further entwining his identity with tragedy and performance Tovino Thomas. The discovery spurs a dangerous mix of anger and resolve, and Jaison contemplates revenge as he wrestles with the sense of betrayal that ripples through his community. In response to these revelations, Jaison begins to craft a masked alter ego, Minnal Murali, drawing strength from a well of resilience and the memory of a father’s sacrifice.

Disguised as Minnal Murali, Jaison makes a bold move by attacking Saajan and others at a public event, leaving behind clues that frame him as the prime suspect. Unbeknownst to him, Daasan has already used the money Jaison had saved for his visa application—stored in the tailor shop—to cover the cost of Usha’s daughter’s surgery, a betrayal that Daasan carries as a secret. Shibu, unaware of Daasan’s actions, robs a bank to raise funds for his own purposes, further muddying the moral landscape and pushing the town toward a climactic confrontation. When Jaison discovers his missing savings, he confronts Daasan, his rage and sorrow spilling over as the truth behind the theft is revealed.

Tensions spiral further when Shibu, driven by a volatile mix of jealousy and desperation, sets fire to Jaison’s shop in a fit of fury, a blaze that claims Daasan’s life and props up a dangerous trap in which Minnal Murali is branded as the culprit. Faced with dwindling options, Jaison confides in Biji about his dual identity, enlisting the help of Josemon to clear his name and uncover the real conspirator. The police lock onto Shibu as the impostor, but he slips away, setting the stage for a dramatic pursuit that culminates on a bus where the vehicle teeters on a cliff edge after a deadly crash. Jaison’s quick actions save lives and earn the villagers’ respect, yet the town’s peace remains fragile.

The tragedy deepens when Shibu’s fixation on Usha leads to a catastrophic explosion that takes her life along with her daughter, a blow that drives him into a nihilistic frenzy. Grief-stricken and embittered, Shibu terrorizes a church congregation and traps Josemon and others, forcing the authorities to lean on Jaison—the only one who might stop the escalating danger. The authorities seek Minnal Murali as the town’s last hope, a symbol of protection and power that must be wielded with care.

In a final, luminous confrontation, Jaison dons his supersuit and faces Shibu at a church. The battle is intense and suffocating, but Jaison draws on the memory of his father’s sacrifice and finds a reserve of inner strength that tips the balance. He overpowers Shibu, bringing an end to his terror and earning the villagers’ gratitude, while Biji helps to quell the flames and prevent further harm. As the dust settles, Jaison’s voiceover solidifies his vow to shield the community from future threats, stepping fully into the mantle of Minnal Murali—the protector who rose from a small-town dream to a thunderous, communal hope.
