Palanivel and Vetrivel are two inseparable brothers living simple lives in a village set on the foothills of the Palani temple. Palanivel works as a farmer, while his younger brother Vetrivel, known as Vetri, drives a minivan to make ends meet. The film follows the quiet rhythms of their bond, a shared sense of duty, and the way love and danger begin to blur the lines between rural life and the wider world beyond.

When Vetri falls for a city-based girl named RJ Anjali who happens to visit Palani, it becomes clear that love is sparking in two directions. Vetri’s heart leads him toward Anjali, but he also notices Lakshmi—an emerging romance for his brother Palani. The brothers’ lives start to tilt as romance moves through their circle, setting up a delicate triangle of loyalties and dreams.

Vetri travels to Chennai in search of employment and to pursue his growing feelings for Anjali. There, he lands a job as a driver in a courier company, where he befriends Vimala Hassan, a female employee who is known for being a fan of Kamal Haasan. Vimala’s warmth brings Vetri a confidant in a new, unfamiliar city, and their friendship adds a layer of companionship to an otherwise uncertain transition from village to metropolis.

Into this new balance enters Essaki, a feared don who controls the Saidapet area of the city. At first, Essaki helps Vetri navigate his new life, but their alliance quickly deteriorates as differences arise and a dangerous feud begins to simmer. Back in Palani, Palani himself comes to Chennai to meet Vetri and happens to run into Essaki. A revelation follows: Palani and Essaki are childhood friends, a fact that complicates Vetri’s protective instinct toward his brother and clouds the nature of their ongoing feud.

To spare his brother, Vetri keeps the escalating conflict with Essaki on the down low, but circumstances prevent them from meeting openly in front of Palani. As twists unfold, Essaki discovers that Vetri is Palani’s brother and resolves to kill him. The tension escalates quickly and tragically when Lakshmi is stabbed by Essaki while attempting to save Palani; Lakshmi dies from her wound, a moment that shatters Vetri and fuels his determination to confront the threat.

A brutal confrontation follows. Vetri channels his rage into a fight with Essaki, who initially holds the upper hand. The tide turns when Palani intervenes, delivering a decisive stab that ends Essaki’s threat. With the danger behind them, the two brothers reclaim a sense of peace and normalcy. The story closes on a hopeful note: Vetri marries Anjali, and the brothers begin to build a peaceful life together, their bond strengthened by the trials they endured and the choices they made in the face of danger.
