Kittumani lays down eight conditions which the girl he marries should fulfill. His uncle Naradar Naidu is fed up with looking for a suitable match for him and takes on the challenge of finding a middle ground. The search ends with a girl who seems very nice, but unfortunately she does not meet any of Kittumani’s stringent criteria.

After some zig-zag maneuvering, Naidu arranges their marriage, hoping to smooth over the impasses that have piled up around the proposal. Yet, within four days, it becomes painfully clear that not a single condition has been fulfilled, leaving the couple and their families in a tangle of expectations and disappointments.

Kittumani teeters between frustration and action; he plans to send her away, but Naidu, who pretends to back him, steps in to derail the move. As the situation unfolds, the couple learns a deeper truth: the wife is pregnant with Kittumani’s child, a development that shifts the entire dynamic and adds pressure to everyone involved.

Naidu’s influence spills into other family matters as well—his instructions lead to his sister’s expulsion from her husband’s home, while his wife begins learning and speaking Hindi. Despite the upheaval, Kittumani agrees to let the woman stay, partly driven by practical concerns, including his own difficulties with cooking which make household harmony feel urgent.

In the end, there seems to be a fragile resolution, but Naidu is cast out as the sole source of the confusion. He finally explains that his actions mirrored the same kinds of conditions he would place on his own fiancée, and that just before the marriage he discovered some of those conditions had not been fulfilled. The revelation that the girl had killed herself under such pressures becomes a turning point, and Naidu vows to spare others from facing similar predicaments, dedicating himself to saving lives from these kinds of coercive expectations.
