Sam is an aging bachelor and a renowned perfumer living in Portugal, where he crafts Gucci Bloom and enjoys a life of freedom and self-made success. In his younger days, a breakup with Suma after his family’s traditional pressures left him wary of marriage and more inclined toward fleeting relationships.

His family—his mother, along with his three sisters—pushes him to wed within three months. Sam’s mother and his siblings Swarnalatha, Sangeetha, and Swetha stand firmly behind the plan, hoping to see him settle down and start a new chapter. To buy time and buy peace, Sam hatches a bold arrangement: he hires a young woman to pose as his fiancée for a few weeks and then disappears on the wedding day, hoping the pressure will melt away.

Avantika, a woman with her own tightly wound motives, accepts the role. Played by Rakul Preet Singh, [Avantika] becomes the key to the scheme—she also wants to adopt her late sister’s son, a goal that Portuguese law complicates with a requirement for sufficient funds. This practical twist is what makes her agree to the pretend engagement, hoping the arrangement will straddle both heart and duty.

As the plan unfolds, the family warms to Avantika’s presence, and she, in turn, finds herself drawn to them.
