Set against New Orleans’ glamorous streets, sidewalk cafés, and Mardi Gras, northern lawyer John Reynolds travels to the city to break a criminal lottery syndicate. He meets Julie Mirbeau and they fall for each other, but her father runs the lottery, putting them on opposite sides.
