Velu Vijay, a fearless car racer from a large Chennai family, grows up under the shadow of his father Singamuthu Manivannan, who vanished years earlier after traveling to Kadapa to work in a colliery. Velu soon learns that a Malaysia-based crime boss named Koccha Suman Talwar owes his father a massive debt, pulling him into a dangerous underworld far from home.

To settle the debt, Velu and a companion travel to Malaysia, moving as Kuruvi—low-level contraband carriers—where internal rivalries churn within Koccha’s camp. In this tense landscape, Devi [Trisha Krishnan], also known as Radhadevi and Koccha’s younger sister, refuses an arranged marriage to Soori Pawan, the brother of Konda Reddy Ashish Vidhyarthi, a Kadapa-based associate involved with Koccha. This familial friction adds pressure to Velu’s mission, and Koccha’s indifference pushes Velu toward a desperate move.

Disillusioned and mistreated, Velu is thrown out of Koccha’s residence. He hides inside the mansion and secretly steals a large diamond that he hopes will pay off his father’s debt, then returns to India with his prize. Devi, drawn to Velu, follows him back after he saves her from a perilous fall on New Year’s Eve, and a fragile bond begins to form between them. The pair’s reunion is shadowed by the threat Koccha and his gang pose to Velu’s family, who fear for Singamuthu’s safety.

Velu soon learns that his father is alive and being held as bonded labour with many others at Kadapa. Singamuthu had uncovered diamonds at the colliery but refused to let Koccha and Konda Reddy mine them illegally, sealing his fate with captivity. Determined to rescue his father, Velu heads for Kadapa and faces Koccha once more, delivering a brutal blow by throwing the rival boss onto a moving train, a moment that marks a turning point in his fight.

Inside Kadapa’s shadowy world, Velu discovers a slave camp run by Koccha and Konda Reddy, where Kadapa Raja—a brutal enforcer—torturess inmates. With the help of his uncle Elango Ilavarasu, Velu infiltrates Koccha’s mansion again on the eve of Devi’s wedding to Soori, seeking his father and the truth. Devi reveals that Koccha’s fingerprint is the password to his laptop, and by unlocking it, Velu and Devi uncover a damning web: illegal diamond mining and secret government documents stored in Koccha’s possession.

A tense clash ensues as Velu disables Soori by having him stung by bees on the wedding day, stalling the ceremony. Velu then faces Konda Reddy and his henchmen, fighting through their defenses and killing them all, dragging Konda Reddy’s corpse to Koccha’s mansion as a message. Koccha, now wheelchair-bound, recovers enough to threaten Velu, but is finally arrested by STF officer Raj Narsing Yadav, who has been monitoring the operation from the shadows.

Back home, Singamuthu and the rest of the family are reunited, and Velu’s journey culminates in a heartfelt reunion with Devi. Along the way, Vijay’s sister, Nivetha Thomas, lends quiet support to the cause, underscoring the film’s themes of family, loyalty, and justice. The story closes with Velu and Devi finding a path forward together, their bond tempered by the battles they endured and the truth they uncovered in a world where power and greed clash with duty and love.
