Spoilers ahead
A plane crashes in a remote jungle, and while many survive, the visible wreckage only tells part of the story: the front portion of the aircraft and the cockpit are mysteriously missing, leaving the survivors with a narrow goal—reach the cockpit and radio for help. In the scramble that follows, Ed Malone climbs a gentle hill and spots a distant cockpit about a mile away, a beacon of possible rescue that becomes the first spark of a meticulous, tense plan. A second group forms, and under the direction of John Roxton they push through the dense greenery toward that radio, while the others stay behind at the crash site, keeping watch for any passing aircraft and hoping for a second chance.
